Dear Mothers of the Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region,
The Regional Leadership Team invites you to join us as we celebrate our 13th Annual Southeastern Regional Trip on March 30-April 2, 2018---Easter Weekend. This year’s destination is Charleston, South Carolina and our trip theme is “A Historical Legacy: Celebrating African Traditions in America.”
This year’s Regional Trip is truly an opportunity to educate and raise the consciousness level of our children, while remembering and honoring the bravery, courage and ultimate sacrifices made by our ancestors on the journey to freedom. We will learn about the enslavement of Africans, the Civil War, Emancipation, Reconstruction and much more. This trip will explore the charm and beauty of historic Charleston, along with the Gullah language, food, and intriguing traditions.
There will be something for everyone-- children, teens and parents— on this trip! It is our hope that families will use this Regional Trip to get away from the day to day routine, spend quality family time with each other as well as bond with other families in the Southeastern Region. The Regional Trip includes an Easter Sunday Worship Service, quality programming, cultural enrichment and a community service component for all age groups.
