It brings us great pleasure in celebrating our 11th year of participation in the Southeastern Regional Pen Pal Club.
Welcome to both our new and returning club members between the ages of 5 and 12!
We value your choice in making the decision to enroll your child(ren) in this year’s Pen Pal Club! Our club has been designed to foster new and meaningful relationships with other Jacks and Jills within our region, while providing an opportunity for our children to be engaged in developing their writing and communications skills. Therefore, the key to the success of this program is ACTIVE participation. It is imperative that you support the region’s initiative by providing multiple opportunities for your child(ren) to write to their Pen Pal. We are encouraging each member to honor their commitment to their Pen Pal by writing and responding on a monthly basis. To encourage full participation, we have added new components to the Pen Pal Club.
· In additional to registering your child(ren) for the Pen Pal Club, Mothers will have to certify at the end of the year that their child(ren) have met all Pen Pal Club commitments before a child receives Regional recognition for participation in the Pen Pal Club
· Children participating in the Pen Pal Club will be recognized during the Children’s Cluster.
· Children will have an opportunity to virtually meet their Pen Pal during “Meet Your Pen Pal Day”.
It is our aim that each Pen Pal Club member is assigned one Pen Pal with whom they correspond. In very few cases, a member will be assigned two Pen Pals if necessary to allow a matching of age, gender, and/or interests.
Pen Pal Club Starter kits will be mailed to each child in December.
